Garbo is a nonprofit that provides an easy-to-use online background check platform, making it simple for individuals to see if someone has a history of violence including arrests, convictions, and sex offender registry information. In addition to our background check platform, we also offer resources, education and community connection.
Garbo’s mission is to proactively prevent gender-based violence in the digital age.
For most searches, Garbo only needs a first name and phone number.
In some cases, we may request additional information to provide accurate search results. The more information you input initially the faster your search will be.
Garbo provides access to public records of arrests, convictions, and sex offender registry data across most counties in the U.S.
Garbo believes in the privacy of both the person searching and the one being searched. We limit access to certain non-violent offenses, last names, and other personal identifying information.
We recognize that our users may be in potentially unsafe situations when using Garbo. If you need to quickly exit or close your session on Garbo, you can click the orange PLUS SIGN (+) at the bottom left of your screen.
Using Garbo’s safe escape button will log you off and redirect you to another external site but will NOT clear your browser history.
