Profile Review Request Process
Last updated: August 23, 2021
Garbo’s database is consistently refreshed with data from thousands of sources - mostly direct from different government entities. Our records are updated as the different government entities update their records - which can be on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
Connecting billions of records and pieces of data is complex, and there can occasionally be an incomplete or inaccurate record within the system.
If you believe that your record within Garbo’s system is incomplete or inaccurate, you can file a profile review request. A profile review request is a process in which we analyze the submitted record for accuracy and completeness.
If there is a record shown you believe should be excluded via our Offense Reporting Policy, you can also contact us for a profile review request.
If you have searched for yourself and found an incomplete or inaccurate record, the first step is to contact us at request@garbo.io with the email subject line “REVIEW REQUEST”.
Within this initial email, please include the following:
Full name
Full birthdate
Email address registered to your Garbo account
Location (City, State)
Screenshot of Garbo search result
An explanation of what is incomplete or inaccurate within the search result
You will also need to provide: An official copy of your updated, accurate record from a courthouse or other government agency.
Garbo will send you a response once your information is received via the email you submitted the original profile review request.
Garbo will then verify and validate the official copy of the record provided to us by you. This process can take up to 7 business days.
If we can validate and verify the updated official record you submitted, we will update our records and remove any inaccurate information and alert you once this process has been completed.
If we can not validate and verify the updated official record you submitted, we will request additional information from you. We will keep the record available on Garbo’s platform and to our users until we hear from you with this additional information and we can validate and verify the updated record.
If we find that the current record in Garbo’s database is accurate and complete, we will keep the record available on Garbo’s platform.
A record review can be submitted more than once based on updates within the official court records (i.e. a record was expunged or sealed).
If you have any questions about this process please contact us at request@garbo.io
